I love my Savior though sometimes He can throw a loop that keeps you thinking and can get you stuck. I dreamt about Teen Mania last night. Working there and impacting young women who are embarking on such a year of change and challenges. It excited me and made me want to apply right here and now. All I could think about though is two little girls who need that input just as much. A life in Lancaster that I wouldn’t want to leave and family close by that would be hard to add miles between. Rusty has dreams and desires too and they all revolve around here… Is it God or Charis???? I assume the question will be answered one day!
Oh, and then there is Mary Kay. Is it for me? Is my struggle to push through because God has something great for the future concerning it or because maybe it just isn’t what I am to be doing right now or even ever. I hate uncertainty and feel like that is all life holds right now.

Hello! I couldn’t help but take get excited about your interest in Teen Mania. I came to the Honor Academy last year to be an intern at Teen Mania, and am now starting my second year. I can most definately say that coming to Texas and being an intern was one of the best decisions that I have ever made. The spriitual growth that happened inside of me has transformed how I think about myself and about God, and has changed my life. I feel like I have a strong foundation to live for the Lord in this culture for life, and be able to fulfill my calling. This year I stayed to help disciple the new interns, I too love working with women, it is a true joy, and rare privelige at my age.
So I don’t know where this comment will find you, but if you are looking for direction, I would highly reccomend the Honor Academy. A new class is welcomed in January.

Shyla, Thanks so much for your input and I am so glad that you are enjoying your internship experience. I was actually an intern nine years ago. I every once in awhile think about working there. I have a bachelor’s in Women’s Ministries and can’t help but dream of some day working there. Who knows where the Lord will lead or what He will call me to. I am a full time and very busy mom of two little girls. That keeps me very occupied. As I think about the season of life I am in right now, I know now is not the time…someday though…maybe I’ll be in TX once again….
